Manipulation and coercion – Bloodlines is a game about Marty using Sanghoon’s desire for a fraternal relationship to have sex with him. Sanghoon is resistant to Marty but ultimately gives in as the difference between fraternal and sexual love blurs in his mind. This dynamic doesn’t go nearly as far as it would in a “dark romance” and everything is explicitly consensual from both parties. However, as the driving force of the story, I would steer away from this game if this is an issue for you.
Assault – At the end of the game, HJ physically assaults Marty. Marty ends up bleeding with a black eye.
Drugs and alcohol use – The game takes place over the background of a fraternity, so alcohol is consistently mentioned and shown on screen. Marty is a stoner.
Descriptions of abuse – Sanghoon describes the abuse he faced from having an alcoholic father. Marty describes his abusive father.
